Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) is a layer that gathers findings from multiple AppSec tools, removes duplicates, and prioritizes them by real risk. Instead of treating each scanner output separately, ASPM correlates alerts from SAST, DAST, dependency scanners, and other sources into one view that defenders can act on. A good ASPM system keeps provenance, so analysts can trace each priority item back to the original tool and rule.
ASPM matters because modern applications produce too much security noise for manual triage. In defense, it helps teams focus on exploitable weaknesses, exposed services, and vulnerable third-party components. In attacks, that same complexity can hide a critical flaw behind many low-value findings, especially when code changes quickly or dependencies are stale. Used well, ASPM supports continuous exposure management by showing what is truly at risk, what has been fixed, and what still needs attention.
