App Store submissions

apps uploaded for review before they can appear in the store.

App Store submissions are apps uploaded to a platform’s review queue before they can be published. The review process checks code, metadata, permissions, payments, and policy compliance so that unsafe, deceptive, or malicious apps do not reach users.

In cyber security, submission review is an important defense layer because app stores are a high-trust distribution channel. Attackers may try to disguise malware as legitimate software, reuse stolen developer identities, or hide risky behavior until after approval. Defenders use automated scans and human review to catch abuse, block policy violations, and reduce fraud. Submission review is not perfect, but it helps stop malicious apps at the point where they are easiest to reject: before they become publicly available.
