In cyber security, this matters because an agent with delegated permissions can act like an insider. If discovery, identity, or authorization are weak, attackers may spoof an agent, hijack a session, or redirect tasks and data. Good AGNTCY-style design supports least privilege, traceable handoffs, and human review for sensitive actions. Defenders can use its observability focus to reconstruct what an agent accessed, which messages it processed, and whether unsafe behavior came from prompt injection, configuration abuse, or stolen credentials.
