Accumulation is the steady increase of holdings over time through repeated buying. In crypto markets, analysts use it to describe wallets or investors that keep adding to a position rather than trading in and out. The pattern can be visible on-chain when balances rise while price stays flat or weak.
In cyber security, accumulation matters because it can reveal intent and capability. Defenders watch for suspicious token or asset accumulation by controlled wallets, which may indicate preparation for a manipulation campaign, a liquidity drain, or a coordinated exit. Security teams also use accumulation patterns in blockchain intelligence to distinguish ordinary investor behavior from automated or adversarial activity. In practice, a rise in holdings does not prove maliciousness, but it is a useful signal when combined with transfer timing, wallet clustering, and exchange flows.
