Workflow enumeration is the process of probing a service to identify its available workflows, endpoints, or functions. In an orchestration platform, this may reveal which flows can be called and where an attacker might test for weak authorization or exposed functionality.
In cyber security, enumeration helps attackers map a target before attempting access or misuse; defenders also use it during authorized assessments to find unintended exposure. Requests that appear to enumerate workflows show probing, not proof of a successful breach. Reduce risk by restricting management interfaces, requiring strong authentication, enforcing authorization for each flow and API, and monitoring requests for repeated discovery attempts.
