A workflow accelerator is a tool or technique that makes an existing process faster or easier without changing its basic nature. In cybersecurity, artificial intelligence can accelerate familiar tasks such as drafting, translating, or tailoring phishing messages. The underlying attack remains social engineering; the process simply takes less time or effort.
This matters because greater efficiency can help attackers produce more convincing or higher-volume deception, while defenders may also use automation to sort alerts and identify suspicious patterns. Acceleration does not guarantee success or create a new attack category. Organizations should continue to rely on layered email defenses, phishing-resistant authentication, easy user reporting, and practiced incident response to limit the impact of attacks.
