Wired control carries commands between devices over a physical connection, such as a cable. Unlike a wireless signal, the command travels through a direct path between the controller and the device. This can make the connection predictable, but the cable limits movement and may be vulnerable to damage or tampering.
In cyber security, wired control can describe how an operator or system communicates with equipment, including industrial devices or consumer electronics. Attackers with physical access might intercept or alter signals, connect unauthorized equipment, or use exposed ports to issue commands. Defenses include restricting physical access, securing ports and cables, and checking that connected devices are authorized.
