Wallhack

A cheat that reveals players or objects through walls and other obstacles.

A wallhack is a cheat that lets a player see opponents, items, or other hidden objects through walls and similar obstacles. It usually works by altering the game client, reading game memory, or intercepting rendering data so that information meant to stay hidden becomes visible on-screen.

In cyber security, wallhacks matter because they show how client-side trust can be abused. If a game sends too much location data to the player’s device, cheat tools may scrape that data and reconstruct hidden positions. Defenses focus on reducing exposed state, keeping sensitive position updates on the server, and using anti-cheat checks to detect tampering or impossible player behavior. Stronger designs do not just punish cheats after they appear; they make the data harder to steal in the first place.
