TokenGuard is a built-in Laravel authentication guard for checking API requests that use tokens. A guard determines how an application verifies a user’s credentials; TokenGuard reads a token from a request and uses the configured user provider to identify the associated account.
Because it sits at an authentication boundary, a flaw in token handling can let an attacker bypass checks or impersonate a user, potentially gaining access to that account’s protected routes. In practice, defenders should verify whether their application uses TokenGuard, keep Laravel dependencies patched, and review how token values are validated. Exposure to a reported vulnerability depends on the affected framework version and deployment conditions; using Laravel alone does not establish that an application is vulnerable.
