SOC orchestration is the coordination of security operations workflows across analysts, tools, alerts, and response procedures. It often uses automation to carry out repetitive steps, such as enriching an alert with context, creating a case, or notifying the right team.
In a security operations center (SOC), orchestration can help analysts respond more consistently and spend less time on manual tasks. It does not mean automating every decision: teams need clear rules for what systems may do automatically, when human review is required, and how serious incidents are escalated. Attackers may exploit gaps between tools or teams, so well-designed workflows can also help defenders connect signals and act quickly.
