Responsive design is an approach to building layouts that adjust to the screen size, orientation, and available space of a device. It commonly uses flexible grids, scalable images, and CSS media queries so content remains usable on phones, tablets, and desktop displays.
In cybersecurity, responsive design matters because security controls and warnings must remain clear and usable across devices. Attackers may exploit poorly adapted interfaces with deceptive buttons or obscured messages, while defenders need login flows, consent prompts, and alerts that remain legible and accessible. On foldable devices, a layout may need to respond to changing viewports as the screen opens or closes; resizing alone does not guarantee that content is well organized or safe to interact with.
