An offline conversion is a valuable business outcome-such as a qualified lead, signed deal, or completed sale-that happens outside an advertising platform and is recorded in another system, often a CRM. The business can later import or match that outcome to an earlier ad interaction using identifiers and configured matching rules.
Linking offline outcomes to campaign activity helps businesses measure revenue rather than only clicks or form fills, and gives ad systems more meaningful signals for optimization. In real workflows, missing records, inconsistent definitions, or broken links between CRM, sales, and finance data can leave the platform with only a partial picture. This is primarily a measurement and data-quality concern: incomplete conversion signals can skew attribution and encourage optimization toward early activity instead of completed business.
