Multi-Domain Management

A setup that centralizes administration across multiple security domains from one management platform.

Multi-Domain Management is a centralized administration model that lets one management platform control several separate security domains. In practice, it is used in large environments where different teams, tenants, regions, or business units need their own policy boundaries, but administrators still want a single place to configure rules, users, logging, and updates.

This design is important in cyber security because it concentrates high-value control in one interface. If an attacker bypasses authentication or abuses the management console, they may be able to change policy across multiple domains, disable protections, or gain broad visibility. Defenders treat these systems as crown-jewel infrastructure: they segment access, restrict exposure, monitor admin activity, and patch quickly. Multi-Domain Management improves operational efficiency, but it also raises the impact of any flaw in the management plane.
