Mobility

the ability to move or travel from one place to another.

Mobility is the ability of a person, device, or system to move between locations or operate while moving. In technology, it can describe portable devices, mobile networks, or users accessing services from different places.

Mobility matters in cybersecurity because access beyond a fixed office or network changes where security controls must apply. Attackers may target phones, wireless connections, or credentials used on the move. Defenses include device encryption, strong authentication, secure network connections, and policies that protect data wherever it is accessed. In the article’s bicycle context, mobility means being able to travel across many places; it is not itself a cybersecurity threat or control.
