Mint condition

a description meaning the project is presented in excellent, clean state.

Mint condition means an object is in excellent, clean, near-new state, with little or no visible wear. In hardware security, that description can matter because condition affects how a device is assessed: a pristine enclosure may suggest careful build quality, but it can also hide recent modification or tampering.

Security teams care about this term when inspecting evidence, lab equipment, or defensive hardware such as cyberdecks, dongles, and test rigs. A device that looks mint condition may be easier to trust at a glance, but defenders still check screws, seals, ports, firmware, and components for signs of alteration. In real attacks, a malicious device can be made to look clean and ordinary to reduce suspicion, so visual appearance should never replace verification. In practice, “mint condition” is a quality note, not proof of safety.
