Feature Manager

The cPanel tool used to enable or disable account features.

Feature Manager is a cPanel administration tool used to enable or disable services and capabilities for hosting accounts. It helps providers control which functions a tenant can use, such as database access, mail features, or other account-level tools. In a shared-hosting environment, that makes it part of the control plane, not just a convenience setting.

It matters in cyber security because feature toggles define trust boundaries. If a risky capability is left enabled for an account that does not need it, an attacker who gains that login may inherit more power than expected. In real defenses, administrators use Feature Manager to reduce exposure by removing unnecessary functions, limiting database access, and enforcing least privilege. In real attacks, weak feature configuration can turn a normal customer workflow into a path toward privilege escalation or broader abuse of backend services.
