Dynamic policies

Rules that can adapt to context, role, or risk instead of staying fixed for every situation.

Dynamic policies are security rules that change based on context, such as who is acting, what device is used, what data is involved, or how risky the action appears. Instead of applying one fixed rule to every request, they adjust enforcement in real time.

In cyber security, this matters because threats are often situational. A login from a trusted laptop on a normal network may be allowed with less friction, while the same request from an unknown location may trigger extra checks, an approval step, or a block. In AI-enabled workflows, dynamic policies can also control what assistants and agents are allowed to do, limiting actions like sending emails, moving files, or approving transactions unless the context is safe. They support least privilege, reduce the chance that prompt injection or misuse turns into damage, and make defenses more responsive than annual training or static access rules.
