A DevOps engineer laptop is an endpoint used to build, deploy, and operate software systems. It may have privileged access to source-code repositories, cloud consoles, production environments, or deployment tools, and may store credentials such as access tokens or SSH keys.
Because of that access, attackers may target the laptop to steal credentials, alter code, or reach connected systems. Defenders should protect it with strong authentication, endpoint monitoring, timely updates, and least-privilege access. Keep secrets in managed vaults rather than local files, and revoke or rotate credentials if compromise is suspected.
