Data suitability

The degree to which data fits the intended AI use, including quality, relevance, and completeness.

Data suitability is the degree to which information fits a specific intended use, such as training or operating an AI system. It depends on whether the data is accurate, relevant to the task, sufficiently complete, and representative of the situations the system will encounter. Data that is suitable for one purpose may be unsuitable for another.

In cybersecurity and AI deployments, unsuitable data can produce unreliable outputs, conceal important risks, or expose sensitive information unnecessarily. Before use, teams should assess data quality, provenance, coverage, access permissions, and whether collection and processing are appropriate. In real systems, these checks help prevent flawed decisions and make AI outputs more dependable within the surrounding workflow.
