CyberStrikeAI

An open-source security-testing platform that Kaspersky says was used in the reported incidents.

CyberStrikeAI is an open-source security-testing platform. In the incidents described by Kaspersky, it was reportedly used by attackers during intrusions involving Active Directory compromise, credential theft, and data collection. The available account does not establish that the platform autonomously broke into systems; AI-enabled features may instead assist operators with tasks such as generating commands, interpreting results, or planning next steps.

For defenders, the tool’s name is less important than the activity it may support. Monitor for unusual logins, suspicious command execution, unexpected directory queries, and privileged-account use outside normal patterns. When investigating, review identity systems and endpoints together, since stolen credentials or persistence can remain after a password reset. Open-source security tools can have legitimate testing uses, but in an intrusion they may help operators carry out familiar post-compromise actions more efficiently.
