Creativity is the ability to generate original ideas or find new ways to solve problems. In cybersecurity, it helps defenders anticipate how systems might be misused, design safer workflows, and develop detection methods for threats that do not match known patterns.
Attackers also use creativity to adapt phishing messages, combine techniques, or evade existing defenses. Because novel approaches may bypass familiar rules, security teams pair creative thinking with verification: test assumptions, examine evidence, and validate unusual activity before trusting an explanation or automated alert.
