Counterfeit checkout page

A fake payment page built to collect card details or other verification data.

A counterfeit checkout page is a fake payment form designed to look like a legitimate service’s billing page. It may ask for card numbers, billing details, passwords, or verification codes. Criminals commonly direct people to these pages through phishing emails or messages that create urgency, such as claiming a subscription payment failed.

Information entered on the page can be collected for attempted payment fraud or account access. Some phishing flows may involve a live operator who decides what to request next, but a request for a one-time code does not prove that the code will be successfully used. To reduce risk, open the service directly through its official app or website to check billing status, rather than following an unsolicited link. Organizations can investigate suspected pages by preserving the message, URLs, and related security logs.
