Context-aware detection is security analysis that evaluates surrounding signals, such as who is speaking, how a conversation develops, and what action a message requests, rather than judging only an isolated keyword, link, or sender. In a chat, ordinary business language may become suspicious when followed by an urgent request for credentials, money, or sensitive information.
This approach can help identify social engineering that avoids obvious scam phrases. For example, a system may assess a new external conversation as a whole and display a warning when its pattern suggests phishing. Such alerts are useful prompts to pause and verify through a separate trusted channel, but they are not proof that a message is malicious or safe. Detection does not necessarily block or remove a message, so user judgment and organizational security controls remain important.
