Compute access

Availability of the processing power needed to train, tune, and run large AI models.

Compute access is the availability of enough processing power, memory, and specialized hardware such as GPUs or TPUs to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and run large AI models. It is not just about owning servers; it also includes the ability to schedule workloads, scale capacity, and keep systems running reliably under load.

In cyber security, compute access matters because advanced AI is now a force multiplier for both defenders and attackers. Defenders need it to analyze logs, test detections, and run security models at useful speed. Attackers value it for training malware variants, automating phishing, or iterating on prompt-based abuse. When compute is scarce or controlled, organizations can limit misuse, enforce quotas, isolate workloads, and protect sensitive model infrastructure. When it is plentiful and unsecured, it can become a target for theft, abuse, or denial-of-service.
