Cell

the basic energy-storing unit inside a battery.

A cell is the basic energy-storing unit inside a battery. It converts stored chemical energy into electrical energy during use and is recharged by reversing the process. A battery may contain one cell or multiple cells connected together to provide a desired voltage and capacity.

In battery research and engineering, measurements such as charging speed, capacity, temperature response, and cycle life are often reported at the cell level. Those results do not automatically describe a complete battery pack, whose performance also depends on cell arrangement, controls, cooling, and safety systems. In security-sensitive devices, cell condition matters because overheating, damage, or poor charging control can create reliability and physical-safety risks. Evaluating a charging claim therefore requires clear test conditions and repeatable results.
