Business partner records are entries in a business system describing organizations or people a company works with, such as customers, suppliers, and other partners. In an ERP system, records may include names, contact details, addresses, account identifiers, and business relationship or payment information.
These records matter because attackers can use them for fraud, targeted phishing, or extortion, while unauthorized changes may redirect payments or disrupt operations. In real attacks, criminals may steal or claim to expose partner data from ERP databases or backups; defenders should verify such claims, restrict access, monitor for unusual exports or changes, and protect backups. The presence of a record count in a leak claim does not by itself confirm that data was accessed or exposed.
