Blade pitch is the angle of a rotor blade relative to the airflow. Changing that angle changes the aerodynamic force the blade produces. In a helicopter, coordinated pitch changes can increase or decrease lift, while adjustments that vary around the rotor help control the aircraft. A swash plate is one conventional mechanism for transmitting those control changes to the blades.
Blade pitch is an engineering term rather than a cybersecurity term, but it can matter to the security of digitally controlled rotorcraft. Sensors, actuators, and control software may measure or adjust pitch, so unauthorized changes or disrupted sensor data could affect flight control. Defenses include protecting control-system access, validating sensor readings, and monitoring for unexpected commands or pitch behavior.
