Automated security testing uses software tools and repeatable processes to probe systems for weaknesses with limited manual effort. For AI models, applications, and agents, tests may simulate prompt injection, jailbreak attempts, or unsafe tool use to identify vulnerabilities before deployment.
Finding these issues early helps teams fix them before systems handle real users, data, or actions. Testing can be repeated after changes to models, prompts, integrations, or permissions. However, automated tests cover only the scenarios they exercise and cannot guarantee safe behavior in production. They work best alongside least-privilege access, human approval for high-impact actions, and ongoing monitoring.
