Audit-ready context is the evidence needed to explain and review an automated decision or action. For an AI agent, it should connect the agent’s identity and owner to its permissions, the policy that authorized the action, the tool or resource it used, and the outcome.
This record helps security teams investigate misuse, verify whether access was appropriate, and understand what happened when an agent’s behavior changes. In practice, organizations can log agent identities, policy decisions, tool calls, and results, then pair those records with least-privilege access, approval for sensitive operations, and ways to revoke credentials. Logs support accountability, but do not prove that an action was correct or replace independent authorization controls.
