An analytic construct is a working label researchers use to group and discuss observed cyber activity. It helps organize evidence-such as tactics, infrastructure, or timing-but does not establish that the activity belongs to one real-world organization.
In threat intelligence, a name may be claimed or reused by different actors, so treating it as proof of shared identity can lead to mistaken attribution or missed campaigns. Defenders should track the label while assessing the underlying evidence independently, including technical indicators, operator methods, and links between incidents. A construct is a useful starting point for investigation, not a conclusion.
