Amadey

A modular Windows malware documented for reconnaissance, data exfiltration, and serving as a loader for additional threats.

Amadey is modular Windows malware associated with host reconnaissance, data exfiltration, and downloading additional threats. It can communicate with an attacker’s command-and-control (C2) infrastructure, which may be used to send instructions, receive information, or deliver further payloads.

These capabilities make Amadey more than a single-purpose infection: it can help attackers assess a compromised machine and use it to introduce other malware. Defenders should investigate suspected infections on the endpoint and across network telemetry, check for secondary payloads and persistence, and remove the malware. Disrupting a C2 server may limit an operator’s control, but it does not by itself clean infected devices or undo data theft.
