AI risk management profile

A practical framework or profile that adapts general AI risk guidance to a specific sector or environment.

An AI risk management profile adapts broad AI risk guidance to the needs of a particular sector, organization, or operating environment. It identifies relevant risks and translates general principles into practical priorities, controls, and assessment methods.

Profiles matter because AI systems used in critical infrastructure face constraints that may not apply to ordinary office software. A profile for energy, water, or transportation can account for safety, uptime, operational technology, vendor dependencies, monitoring, and controlled system changes. Defenders can use it to assess AI applications consistently, clarify responsibilities, and choose safeguards suited to their environment. Such a profile guides risk management; it does not by itself guarantee security or replace an operator’s judgment.
