An AI-assisted attack framework is software that uses artificial intelligence to help automate or coordinate steps in a cyber intrusion. It may assist with reconnaissance, target selection, scanning, or exploitation attempts. The term describes a tool’s role; it does not necessarily mean an attack is autonomous or that a particular system was compromised.
By speeding up repetitive work, such frameworks can help an operator test more targets or run checks more quickly. Defenders can look for the resulting behaviors in identity and application logs, such as unusual access patterns, scripted bursts of queries, privilege probing, or attempts to move between systems. Finding evidence of such tooling does not, by itself, establish that data was viewed, copied, or exfiltrated; those conclusions require supporting evidence.
