Agentic SecOps

Security operations that use AI agents to assist with triage, investigation, and related workflow steps.

Agentic SecOps is the use of AI agents to support security operations, such as triaging alerts, gathering context from security tools, correlating events, and assisting investigations. Unlike a simple summarizer, an agent may perform multiple workflow steps based on its goals and available permissions.

It can help analysts handle alert volume and reduce repetitive work, but its access and authority create security risks. Treat each agent like a privileged integration: apply least privilege, log its queries and actions, and make its reasoning traceable to evidence. Human approval should be required for consequential response actions unless tightly controlled automation is appropriate. These safeguards help teams audit decisions, limit damage from errors, and keep analysts accountable for high-impact outcomes.
