Admin portal

the control panel used to manage hosting, mail, DNS, and security settings.

An admin portal is the control panel used to manage hosting, mail, DNS, certificates, and security settings from one place. In web hosting, it is often the main interface for creating accounts, changing passwords, updating DNS records, renewing TLS certificates, and configuring recovery options.

In cyber security, the admin portal matters because it is a high-value target: whoever controls it may control the domain, email delivery, and service availability. Attackers often try password reuse, phishing, session theft, or abuse of weak role separation to reach it. Defenders should protect it with multi-factor authentication, least-privilege roles, strong recovery controls, and logging of administrative actions. In bundled hosting plans, one portal can simplify operations, but it also concentrates risk in a single login and a small number of trusted settings.
