Abiogenesis is the process by which life may have originated from non-living chemistry. It concerns how early-Earth conditions could have produced increasingly complex molecules and, eventually, the first biological cells. Researchers study possible pathways and assess what evidence supports each step; proposals such as comet delivery of life-related ingredients remain hypotheses unless supported by evidence.
Abiogenesis is a term from origin-of-life science, not cybersecurity, so it does not describe an attack or defense technique. In a security glossary, its relevance is mainly as a reminder to distinguish a plausible explanation from a demonstrated one: claims require evidence that supports the full chain of events, rather than an appealing story or a single suggestive observation.
