Wallet infrastructure

the backend systems that support a crypto wallet service.

Wallet infrastructure is the backend layer that supports a crypto wallet service. It includes the servers, APIs, databases, key-management systems, signing services, monitoring tools, and recovery workflows that keep the wallet available and functional. Users usually only see the app or browser extension, but the real service depends on these hidden systems to process requests, coordinate transactions, and maintain uptime.

This matters because attacks often target the backend instead of the wallet interface. If infrastructure is compromised, an attacker may try to disrupt service, steal data, alter transaction flows, or abuse privileged internal tools. Defenders reduce this risk with strong segmentation, least privilege, hardware security modules, logging, backups, and incident response plans. In practice, a wallet can appear normal to users while teams are already remediating a serious backend incident.
