Virtual reality (VR) is a computer-generated environment experienced through a headset or other display. Sensors and software may track a user’s head, hands, or movement so the scene and controls respond to their actions.
In cyber security, VR matters because immersive systems collect and process sensor data, such as movement and hand gestures, and may connect to accounts, networks, or other devices. Attackers could target exposed data, weak authentication, or vulnerable software; defenders should keep VR applications and devices updated, protect accounts, and review what data is collected. Systems that rely on cameras or other sensors also need to handle incomplete or misleading input safely.
