A threat intelligence platform (TIP) collects threat data from sources such as feeds, reports, and internal security tools, then organizes and enriches it so defenders can use it. It may help analysts connect indicators—such as malicious domains or file hashes—to relevant context, prioritize threats, and share findings.
In cyber security, a TIP matters when it turns information into useful decisions rather than leaving teams with disconnected data. In practice, it can feed indicators into SOC investigation workflows, support infrastructure hunting, or send validated threat information to defensive controls. Its value depends on data quality, integrations, and how well its outputs fit analysts’ processes; collecting more feeds alone does not guarantee better protection.
