Scanner-agnostic

Able to ingest results from different security tools without depending on one vendor.

Scanner-agnostic describes a security platform or workflow that can ingest findings from many different scanners, testers, or pipeline checks without being tied to one vendor’s output format. In practice, it normalizes alerts from tools such as SAST, SCA, secrets scanners, and cloud or container scanners so teams can compare them in one place.

This matters because attackers exploit gaps between tools, while defenders often struggle with duplicate findings, inconsistent severity labels, and unclear ownership. A scanner-agnostic layer helps correlate repeated alerts, deduplicate noise, and prioritize remediation based on risk rather than tool-specific wording. In ASPM and similar platforms, it enables security teams to keep their existing tools while still building a unified view of exposure across the development lifecycle.
