Regional Vice President

An executive role that usually oversees business execution, partnerships, and customer growth in a specific geography.

A Regional Vice President is a senior executive who manages business execution in a specific geography, such as Latin America, EMEA, or North America. The role usually covers sales goals, partner relationships, customer expansion, and coordination with marketing, support, and product teams. In cybersecurity companies, this position is less about engineering the product and more about making sure the product can be sold, deployed, and supported effectively in that region.

This matters in cyber security because regional leadership affects how quickly a vendor builds trust, reaches channel partners, and responds to customer needs. Strong regional execution can improve incident response coordination, local compliance messaging, and adoption in complex environments. The title also appears in attack tradecraft: criminals often impersonate executives in spear phishing or business email compromise, using the authority of a regional leader to pressure employees into sending money, sharing credentials, or approving fraud. In defense, organizations reduce that risk with verification controls, approval workflows, and user awareness training.
