Parametric design

a model built from adjustable variables rather than fixed geometry.

Parametric design is a way of building a model from adjustable variables instead of fixed geometry. In practice, dimensions, clearances, labels, and other features are controlled by inputs such as numbers, rules, or formulas, so one design can generate many variants without redrawing everything.

In cyber security, this matters because the same logic used to generate physical parts is also used to generate digital assets, infrastructure, and attack tooling. Defenders use parametric design in repeatable engineering workflows, where consistent rules help produce safe, testable outputs. Attackers can abuse the same flexibility to mass-produce slightly different phishing pages, lure documents, or infrastructure templates that evade simple pattern matching. The main security lesson is that small input changes can create large downstream effects, so controlled parameters, versioning, and review are critical whenever software turns rules into real-world output.
