Offer markup is structured data that describes the terms for buying a product, such as its price, currency, availability, and, where supported, purchase conditions. It is commonly provided as machine-readable metadata on a product page or through a product feed, helping crawlers and shopping systems interpret an offer rather than infer details from page text.
In cybersecurity, accurate offer data is an integrity concern: stale or altered prices and stock status can mislead customers and automated shopping assistants. Defenders should keep markup synchronized with the storefront and inventory source, validate updates, and restrict access to catalog publishing systems. Markup can improve machine readability, but it does not guarantee that every search engine or assistant will use the data.
