Multi-rotor drone

A drone that uses several rotors for lift and control.

A multi-rotor drone is an unmanned aircraft that uses several rotors, usually arranged in a quadcopter or similar layout, to generate lift and control movement. By varying the speed of each rotor, the drone can hover, climb, descend, and turn with high precision. This makes multi-rotor designs popular because they are stable, relatively simple to fly, and able to operate in tight spaces.

In cyber security, multi-rotor drones matter because they can be used for both reconnaissance and intrusion support. Attackers may use them to film facilities, map entrances, or deliver small payloads near protected areas. Defenders treat them as a signal problem as well as a physical one: a drone can be detected through acoustic, RF, visual, or radar sensors, then correlated with other alerts. Understanding the platform helps security teams judge its speed, noise, flight endurance, and likely use case when building layered detection and response.
