Mechanical design

the arrangement of parts and forces that makes a device function.

Mechanical design is the arrangement of parts, forces, and motion that lets a device work. It covers how components fit together, how they تحمل stress, how power moves through the system, and how the user or environment interacts with the machine. Good mechanical design makes a device reliable, safe, and predictable; poor design creates friction, wear, failure points, and unexpected behavior.

In cyber security, mechanical design matters because many attacks are physical before they are digital. Weak enclosures, exposed connectors, fragile locks, or poorly placed sensors can make tampering, hardware implants, or covert access easier. Attackers may exploit the shape, pressure, heat, or movement characteristics of a device to bypass protections, while defenders use sturdy housings, tamper-evident seals, shielding, and careful component layout to resist intrusion. In hardware security, mechanical design is part of the threat model, not just the packaging.
