An investigation framework is a structured workflow for collecting information, analyzing it, and verifying what the evidence supports. It helps investigators keep sources, observations, and conclusions organized rather than treating every clue as equally reliable.
In cybersecurity and OSINT, a framework can guide analysts as they gather public data, assess its relevance and freshness, and corroborate findings before drawing conclusions. This matters because isolated details may be misleading, while combined information can reveal exposed assets or support reconnaissance. A framework improves consistency and documentation, but it does not make information accurate by itself: analysts still need to verify sources and distinguish confirmed facts from assumptions.
