Intent data is structured information that describes why a user is contacting a business, often inferred from conversation text, session context, or support metadata. Instead of showing only clicks or page views, it turns language into actionable signals such as purchase interest, troubleshooting needs, budget concerns, or escalation risk.
In cyber security, intent data matters because it often contains sensitive commercial and personal details. Transcripts and derived labels can reveal customer identity, account issues, pricing discussions, or internal processes, making them valuable targets for unauthorized access and data leakage. Defensive teams should apply access controls, redaction, retention limits, and audit logging to these records. In attack scenarios, adversaries may try to abuse conversational systems with prompt injection or crafted messages to distort classification, expose hidden context, or trigger unsafe workflow automation. Proper governance helps ensure the model can understand intent without turning customer conversations into an exposure point.
