Full-duplex audio is a voice mode where a system can listen and speak at the same time. Unlike half-duplex designs, where one side must pause for the other, full-duplex handling lets the conversation flow naturally, with less lag and fewer turn-taking cues. In voice assistants, this often feels more human because the user can interrupt, clarify, or respond while the system is still talking.
In cyber security, the feature matters because a more natural voice layer can hide how much work is happening behind the scenes. If a voice assistant is connected to tools, plugins, or other backends, full-duplex interaction can make it easier for a user to miss warning signs or approve a harmful action too quickly. Defenders should pair it with clear state display, logging, confirmation prompts for sensitive actions, and strict allowlisting of connected tools.
