Enterprise browser management is the centralized control of browser settings, updates, extensions, security features, and usage restrictions across an organization’s devices. Instead of leaving each user to configure their own browser, administrators push policies from a management console so every managed browser behaves consistently.
This matters because browsers are a major attack surface: they handle web content, authentication, file downloads, and access to cloud apps. Central management helps defenders enforce fast patching, block risky add-ons, restrict data exfiltration, and keep sandbox and privacy settings consistent. In real attacks, unmanaged or out-of-date browsers can become the easiest entry point; in defense, enterprise management reduces that gap by making security policy automatic rather than optional.
