An ecografo is an ultrasound machine used in medical diagnostics. It captures real-time images with sound waves and is often connected to hospital networks, image archives, printers, or electronic patient records.
In cyber security, medical devices matter because they can contain sensitive data, run outdated software, and depend on vendors for maintenance. If an ecografo is poorly secured, an attacker may be able to access patient information, tamper with stored images or reports, or use the device as a foothold into the wider clinical network. Defenders reduce this risk with network segmentation, strong authentication, patch management, device inventory, logging, and removal of unnecessary services. In practice, the goal is to keep the scanner available, trustworthy, and isolated enough that a compromise does not spread.
